You can create a new collection from the Collections tab or directly from the Dashboard if you have not set one up yet.
How to create a collection
- Go to the Collections tab in the top navigation bar.
- Click + Create New Collection in the top right corner.
- Fill in the following fields:
- Display Name : give your collection a name that reflects what it contains. For example, "Paintings, Ground Floor", "Spring Loan 2026", or "Bronze Sculptures".
- Colour : choose a colour to help identify the collection at a glance across the platform.
- Monitor period (optional) : if the collection covers a specific timeframe, set a start and end date. Leave this blank for ongoing collections with no fixed end.
- Click Create Collection.
Your collection appears under Currently Active Collections. It will be empty until you add sensors to it.
You add sensors after creating the collection, using the Manage units button inside it. See Adding and managing units in a collection for the full steps.
The monitor period is optional. If your collection is for a temporary exhibition or loan, setting an end date means it archives automatically when monitoring is no longer needed.
