Notification rules control who gets alerted when a rule's thresholds are breached, how they are contacted, and which sensors and time windows are covered.
You can reach the notification setup in two ways:
- From the post-save confirmation after creating a rule, click Set up notification rule
- From an existing rule, open the Notification Setup tab and click Edit Rule
The setup has five steps.
Step 1: Recipients
Search for team members by name or email and click + Add to include them. Added recipients are marked with a checkmark. You can add as many recipients as needed.
Click Next to continue.
Step 2: Set up
Choose how recipients will be notified. The available channels are:
- Custodian: an in-app notification
- Email: an email to the recipient's registered address
- SMS: a text message to the recipient's registered phone number
Enable Custom Notification window (SMS/EMAIL) to limit when notifications are sent, choosing the days (or the Weekdays / Every day shortcuts) and a from–to time. Leave it off to send at any time.
Step 3: Customization
Select which of the rule's thresholds should trigger a notification. By default, all thresholds are included. You can remove individual ones if needed.
Step 4: Units
Choose which sensors this notification rule applies to. Sensors are grouped by site, add a whole site with + Add all or expand a site to pick individual sensors. This can be a subset of the sensors attached to the rule, for example if you only want notifications for sensors in a particular room.
Step 5: Summary
Give the notification rule a name in the Notification Rule Name field (pre-filled with a default you can change), then review the details before saving:
- Climate Rule: the climate rule this notification is attached to
- Recipients: the number of people who will be notified
- Schedule: the days and times when notifications are active
- Thresholds: which measurements will trigger alerts
- Target Units: the number of sensors covered
Click Save Notification Rule to finish. A confirmation shows Notification rule created!
