Once a climate profile is created, you can set up a notification rule so the right people are alerted when a threshold is breached. The setup runs through a four-step wizard: Recipients, Schedule, Customisation, and Units.
You can start this wizard immediately after creating a profile, or at any time from the Recipients tab inside an existing profile.
Step 1: Recipients
Choose who should receive the notification. A list of all users in your account appears, showing each person's role and email address. Click + Add next to each person you want to include.
Use the search bar to find someone by name or email.
Click Next once you have added all recipients.
Step 2: Schedule
Choose how recipients are notified. Three channels are available:
- Custodian : a notification appears inside the Custodian app
- Email : an email is sent to the recipient's registered address
- SMS : a text message is sent to the recipient's registered phone number
You can select one or more channels. Click Next to continue.
If a recipient does not have a phone number registered in their account, SMS will not be available for them. Phone numbers can be added from the user settings.
Step 3: Customisation
This step lets you tailor what the notification covers.
Custom notification message : optionally add a message that will be included in the alert. Leave it blank to send without one.
Thresholds to notify on : choose which thresholds in this profile trigger a notification. If your profile monitors both temperature and humidity, you can choose to notify on temperature breaches only. Click + Add next to each threshold, or + Add All to include everything.
Click Next to continue.
Step 4: Units
Choose which sensors this notification rule applies to. The sensors already assigned to the profile appear here. Click + Add to include a sensor, or + Add all sensors to cover everything in the profile.
Click Save Notification Rule when you are done.
Summary
After saving, a summary screen shows:
- The climate profile the rule belongs to
- The number of recipients
- The schedule
- The thresholds covered
- The number of target units
- The custom message, if one was added
Click Done to close. The notification rule is now active.
You can view, edit, or delete notification rules at any time from the Recipients tab inside the relevant climate profile.
