Creating and managing reports

Updated

Create a new report at any time from the Reports tab by clicking Create new + in the top right corner.

Reports come in three formats:

  • PDF : a fully formatted report with statistics, graphs, and an AI-generated summary. PDF reports also support a sensor data overlay, which displays individual sensor measurements per room directly on the report pages for easier visual analysis. This is the recommended format for sharing with colleagues or submitting as part of a conservation record.
  • Excel : a raw data export for one or more sensors, useful for your own analysis.
  • CSV : the same raw data as Excel, in CSV format.

PDF reports include the AI-generated summary feature. Excel and CSV exports contain raw data only.

After creating a report

Your report appears in the Reports list with its name, date range, and creation details. From there you can:

  • Click View to open a preview
  • Click Download to save a copy
  • Click Edit to update the report, including editing the AI-generated summary
  • Click Delete to remove it permanently

Templates

If you create the same type of report repeatedly, save the configuration as a template. Templates appear in the Templates sub-tab and can be reused to generate new reports without reconfiguring from scratch.

Recurring report plans

For reports that need to run on a regular schedule (weekly, monthly, or yearly), set up a recurring report plan. These appear in the Recurring report plans sub-tab and generate automatically at the interval you define.

The user who creates the schedule automatically receives each report by email when it is generated. All reports also remain accessible within Custodian.

Recurring plans are especially useful for institutions that submit regular climate monitoring records to funders, insurers, or conservation bodies.
